He Comes

(A Haiku Quartet)

He will not consent
to be crammed into any
hostile place – He comes

When the darkness “ruled”
the deep, His Spirit came and
hovered over it

Earth shook its iron-mailed
fist at Him and so He came,
a helpless infant.

He came to His own
and they would not receive him.
but to those who would . . .
