Four (or Five) Haiku Proverbs

by Jim Rapp

Wisdom outweighs “smarts”
Taken apart, wisdom is
gold, “smarts” rusting tin

Wisdom, eternal,
witnesses the parade of
“facts” quickly fading

Time, judge of all things
peels away the thin veneer –
callous revealer

Today’s swagger is
tomorrow’s embarrassment,
tomorrow’s disgrace

Wisdom outweighs “smarts”
Taken, apart, wisdom is
gold, “smarts” rusting tin
