A Septet of Meditations VI

                Vain Imaginings
                            by Jim Rapp

To imagine what was never known;
to find some new thing under the sun;
to be original, and to have it shown
that God is not the sole creative one.

So the “image” imagines its creative flair,
as though the dream becomes the dreamer.
Alas, poor creature, wearing outsized airs,
resembles more the great blasphemer.
